Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) Evaluation of a Training Course on Concrete Structure Restoration
The University of Technology/Department of Civil Engineering, in cooperation with the Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC), and with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Scientific Research Authority/Training Department, is holding a specialized training course entitled “Restoration of Concrete Structures” for the period from June 1 to 5, 2025.
This course comes as part of efforts to develop engineering competencies and raise the level of technical expertise of engineers in the public and private sectors. It focuses on the foundations of evaluating and restoring concrete structures using the American code ACI 562.
The course covers important topics, including common defects in concrete, the impact of environmental factors, causes of structural failure, and modern treatment methods for concrete columns, walls, foundations, and ceilings. It is ideal for engineers and professionals working in design, supervision, and implementation.
The course is taught by Dr. Haifa Damd Hassan, an academic specializing in this field, who presents a scientific and applied approach that combines theory and practice.
This initiative is part of a series of training programs organized by the Iraqi Concrete Scientific Society, which aim to develop the skills of national engineering personnel and keep pace with the latest scientific developments in the construction sector.
