Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) held a Workshop about (The evaluation of Drilling Piles)

The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC), in cooperation with the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology, held a workshop on BORED PILES: EQUIPMENT, CONSTRUCTION, CONCRETE QUALITY CONTROL, PROBLEMS & SOLUTION

The workshop speaker was consulting engineer Faris Abdul Razzaq Al-Mahdawi, a member of the administrative board of the Iraqi Scientific Concrete Society. This workshop is a contribution from the society to promoting concrete culture and aims to introduce drilled piles in terms of equipment, construction, concrete quality control, problems and solutions. This workshop also includes a presentation of practical cases of this type of pile in projects implemented in the country.

The workshop was attended by the President of the Association, Prof. Dr. Alaa Al-Zuhairi, the Vice President of the Association, Prof. Dr. Maan Salman, the Consulting Engineer Maher Ibrahim, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Adel, members of the Association’s Administrative Board, in addition to a number of professors, lecturers, and fourth-year students. Discussions and inquiries took place during the workshop on the topic of excavated piles, the problems of their implementation, and how to overcome these problems. The necessity of achieving quality in the implementation of work and adhering to the requirements of quality control of all materials used in the implementation of this type of piles was emphasized.
