The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) signs a cooperation framework with the Building Research Directorate

In a promising scientific and professional step, the Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete, represented by the Society’s President, Prof. Dr. Alaa Hussein Al-Zuhairi, signed on July 23, 2025, a cooperation framework with the Building Research Directorate (one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities), represented by its Director General, Engineer Hussein Faraj Al-Hasnawi, and in the presence of the Society’s Administrative Board members (Prof. Dr. Maan S. Hassan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali A. Abdulhameed, Dr. Suhair K. Alhaboubi, and Consulting Engineer Faris A. Rashid Al-Mahdawi) and a number of advanced cadres in the Building Research Department.
This framework, within its two main categaries (research and technological support part, and technical and training part), the cooperation and collaborative work (following the applicable laws and instructions) to develop and support scientific and advisory capabilities such as conducting scientific research, holding training courses and workshops, providing engineering consultations, and evaluating research submitted for publication in the Journal of Building Research and others in a way that serves the goals and plans of national development to advance the industrial, technological and service reality of concrete and all its products, as it is the first basic material in construction and building .
