The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, holding a workshop entitled 'Concrete Problems on Sites: Causes and Solutions.

The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC), in cooperation with the Training and Development Center of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, held a workshop entitled (Concrete Problems on Sites: Causes and Solutions). The workshop was held in the hall of the National Center for Engineering Consultations today, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, with the participation of engineers from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities and its affiliated formations, a number of consulting engineers from the private sector, engineers from the Al-Kadhimiya Shrine, and others.
The topics discussed during the workshop are:
• Concrete mix design and factors affecting it
• Strength of concrete and testing
• Concrete mixing
• Construction problems and mould defects
• In-situ problems of concrete (transportation, casting, processing, general problems)
• Suggested solutions
The aim of the workshop is to shed light on the reality of concrete in construction projects in Iraq and to diagnose the problems that occur in all stages, starting with production in mixing stations, transporting concrete to sites, and implementation problems.
