Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) Holds Periodic Meeting and Approves Ambitious Plans to Enhance International Cooperation and Establish a Specialized Consulting Office

Baghdad – The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) held its periodic meeting on the morning of Thursday, February 12, 2026, with the participation of the president and the board of directors. The meeting discussed a comprehensive agenda focused on several strategic themes, most notably ways to activate international memoranda of understanding with similar scientific institutions aimed at exchanging expertise, organising joint workshops, and enabling Iraqi researchers to participate in global conferences specialised in concrete and modern construction technologies. The meeting also dedicated significant attention to discussing the establishment of the Society's specialised consulting office, which will provide technical consultancy services to government entities and the private sector for major infrastructure projects. The office will ensure the application of the latest standard specifications in the design and execution of concrete structures, thereby enhancing project efficiency and ensuring their sustainability.
Participants also reviewed upcoming scientific activities, emphasizing the importance of strengthening coordination with various state institutions to unify efforts in implementing engineering projects in accordance with the latest global standards.
