The Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC) holds a workshop entitled "The Role of the Civil Engineer in Supervising Construction Projects"

As part of the Iraqi Scientific Concrete Society (ISSC) commitments to developing engineering capabilities and raising the level of performance in construction projects, considering recent developments in construction techniques and quality of implementation, the Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC), in cooperation with the Iraqi Engineers Union, is holding a workshop entitled "The Role of the Civil Engineer in Supervising Construction Projects." The workshop aims to introduce the role of the civil engineer in all construction projects.

The workshop covers several topics, including but not limited to relevant parties for any project, what project management is, the employer, the resident engineer, project supervision, site handover, planning, programming, follow-up, and control of work; inspection and testing; estimation, changes, and additional work; additional periods; completion work and initial and final project handover; construction equipment used in the project; reinforcing steel and required tests, types of reinforcing steel connections and their requirements, common defects in construction work, common mistakes that occur during pouring, pouring concrete in hot climates, and preparing the concrete design mix. The workshop will be held at the Iraqi Engineers Union Hall in Mansour on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 7:00 PM. The speaker will be consulting engineer Faris Abdul Razzaq Rashid Al-Mahdawi, a member of the administrative board of the Iraqi Scientific Society for Concrete (ISSC).
